BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) strategy to stabilize the company and regain customer confidence seem to be working after the company opted to launch its new line smartphone despite facing, massive competition from the likes of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung Electronics. BlackBerry has announced its next cheaper smartphone, going by the Name Q20 that will be launched in the current fiscal year.

BlackBerry Q20 features

The low end smartphone will feature a 3.5 inch screen which will essentially be the largest screen on the QWERTY platform and will feature BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)’s patented keyboard design that comes with sculpted keys and frets. The smartphone will also have an integrated track pad with back, end buttons as well as a menu bar.

The device is expected to go on sale in Aril in Indonesia for a price tag of less than $200 according to the company Chief Executive Officer John Chen. The device is codenamed Jakarta and will be built in partnership with FIH Mobile Ltd. BlackBerry chief maintains the new smartphone is a response to the lackluster Q10 which lacked track pad and key functions thus its poor performance in the market.

BlackBerry launches eBBM suite and adds more security features for enterprise messaging

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) plans to tap into  a market that is rarely discussed, this is clearly shown by it adding new security features to its enterprise messaging board in a bid of meeting strong industrial requirements.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) eBBM suite will feature more capabilities that should be able to meet the needs of regulated industries as well as BBM user base. The new security features will essentially allow enterprise employees to communicate in a more secure environment. BBM will provide the high advanced security measures by using approved FIPS 140-2 Cryptographic libraries as well as symmetric encryption keys.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) finally hit the $10 mark after its stock soared by 7.83% in Tuesday trading session to close the day at a high of $10.60.
