Wausau,WI  10/9/12 (BasicsMedia) – I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like free stuff. Now, that being said there are a few things that I wouldn’t take if someone gave them to me, but not many. There are only two ways I know of to become wealthier. One. Make more money. Two. Spend less. Most of us fall in the later of the two categories. Not that we all can’t make more money, but it is much quicker and easier to stop from spending so much. So here are just a few ideas and places that I have found where you can find free stuff.

1. Free lodging

Why spend at least $50 a night for some not so spectacular hotel room when you could stay for free? Couchsurfing.org lets people stay at other people’s homes for free. You can make friends with sponsoring families in the United States and other countries from Europe to South America. Simply go to the CouchSurfing website and you will find tips on how to hookup with families that will open their doors and welcome you home. Not all the places are fancy but hey, they are free.

2. Free food

There is a place right here in town that you can go to on your birthday and receive a free meal and if you go to Frugal Living they have  a list of literally hundreds of places across the country that do the same thing. If your looking for a free cocktails, you could also do what I do, go to your favorite pub or tavern and declare your birthday out loud and demand everyone buy the next round. By the way it helps to be a big in this situation as you never know how people will react.

3. Free food for the youngsters

Go to MyKidsEatFree.com and you can find a list, city by city, state by state of more than 5,000 places where kids eat for free. Of course you will still have to pay.

4. Free TV

If your tired of shelling out $50 or more dollars each month for you cable, take a moment and remember that most local channels are still free and reception is better than ever with the all digital signals.

5. Free speech

Let you voice ring off the mountain tops. Make your opinions matter. Start your own blog and see where it takes you. WordPress and Blogger are free. Heck, they even give you free instructions and free templates to make it easier to get started.

These are just a few of the few things and information there is for you to try out.

Stay tuned for free beer tomorrow.
