Tomahawk, WI 06/26/2014 (Basicsmedia) – Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) revealed on Thursday that it has purchased a New Zealand based software producing company Performance Lab Ltd, for its further research and development in sports and exercise. No financial information has been disclosed in the deal, but will be revealed later or sooner.
Performance Lab develops softwares which are mainly used in sports and fitness sector. The lab’s software collects and evaluates data from a sports person and sends the same to the coaches through mobile applications for training management programs. Intel’s plan for the investment is the same, as to develop software for real time exercise management and virtual coaching (which means, an instructor at your doorstep).
Ford & Intel Together With Enhanced In-Car Experience
As day by day internet is becoming a prime tool in vehicles, innovation in the same becomes a necessity. Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) and Intel are exploring new opportunities for in-car personalization and mobile interior imaging technology.
Both the businesses have discovered some new applications for the interior cameras wherein the data has been used from the existing vehicle sensors, just to boost the in-vehicle experience for the passengers and drivers. Also the mobile phone app helps driver to remotely access the vehicle for a quick check.
A new joint research project called Mobile Interior Imaging also named as Project Mobii, has been put on action to provide more privacy. The technology uses the facial recognition software that provides you a more secured, enhanced and personalized privacy controls. The project works on the concept that the interior facing cameras could be put together with the sensor technology to provide a more flawless interaction between the driver and the vehicle, improving the driving experience.
Mobii research is the teamwork between the Intel’s ethnographers, anthropologists and engineers beside the research engineers from Ford, influenced under the uninterrupted computing technology to present a more comfortable and enjoyable vehicle experience.
