Tomahawk, WI 12/02/2013 (BasicsMedia) – Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is making foray into Indian tech startup hub. The company is reported to be courting a Bangalore-based mobile app crash testing company Little Eye Labs. This company is promising for the social networking giant as it offers better platform for testing mobile apps before they are released to the masses.

Little Eye Labs is a brainchild of former employees of International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). The company offers mobile testing on a variety of platforms including Android from Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) and iOS from Apple Inc. These are the admirable reason FB is seeking a hand in business with this Indian tech startup.

Both sides mute on deal

It is reported that the deal between Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) and Little Eye Labs could enter advance levels in the upcoming weeks. But these reports come amid muteness from both sides of the rumored deal. It is understandable why FB would be interested in truncating its acquisitions quietly. The company’s rival Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) is also eying the promising tech startups in India to help boost the quality of its tweets.

Another reason FB would be measured to going public about its takeover bids for startups is due to the failure to sign a deal with Snapchat. This mobile photo sharing platform was seen as a perfect bid for Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) given that it was harvesting most of its teen users. But things fell apart as Snapchat founders were adamant in selling the mobile app, hurting FB’s prospects and ego in the same go.

With the social networking business maturing and competition going up as new players enter the game, secretive deals are becoming the norm and deals are only released when they are expected to catch the rival flat-foot. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) and Twitter are very much in this hide and seek game.

Race to establish base in mobile

The way people are accessing the Internet and social networking sites for that matter is quickly shifting to mobile. This is because smartphones and tablets offer convenient access to the Web anywhere, anytime. This being the case, social networking companies are undoing one another in establishing strong mobile presence.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) recently announced its partnership with mobile operators to increase access to the Internet cheaply and conveniently on handheld devices. This association is already paying off as the social networking company has been able to add more users to its base.

Taking over Little Eye Labs is expected to help the company improve its foray into the mobile platform. This will also help the company quickly get over the mobile ad placement challenge that it’s facing in it current mobile format. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is seeking to monetize mobile platform without alienating users with too much ad loads.

Another try at mobile messaging

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) has tried all long to make inroads in mobile messaging platform. The company’s acquisitions to bolster this position have not achieved much. Little Eye Labs with its superior mobile apps testing service will be able to help the company develop and try more mobile apps to help it harvest the youths who now tend to favor mobile messaging apps that larger networking sites like FB.
