CombiMatrix Corporation (CBMX) is up over 90% in morning trading. The Company is a molecular diagnostics company, operates primarily in the field of genetic analysis and molecular diagnostics. The company, through its subsidiary, CombiMatrix Molecular Diagnostics, Inc., operates a diagnostics reference laboratory that provides DNA-based clinical diagnostic testing services to physicians, hospitals, clinics, and other laboratories in the areas of pre-and postnatal development disorders, and hematology/oncology genomics. Its developmental disorder suite of array tests focus on the prenatal and postnatal application of array-comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) in diagnosing genomic syndromes associated with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, dysmorphic features, and/or birth defects.

 Safeway (NYSE:SWY) hit a new 52-week high today as it is up over 12% which is above its previous 52-week high of $22.94 with 16 million shares traded this morning. Average volume has been five million shares over the past 30 days.

Safeway has a market cap of $4.9 billion and is part of the services sector and retail industry. Shares are up 13.1% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday.Safeway Inc., together with its subsidiaries, operates as a food and drug retailer in North America. The company has a P/E ratio of 10.9, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7.

ParkerVision, Inc. (PRKR) just announced that the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida issued its patent claim construction ruling, or “Markman Order”, in the ongoing patent infringement action between ParkerVision and Qualcomm, Inc (QCOM).

This has sparked a 37% jump in value today.

In a Markman Order, the presiding district court in a patent infringement case sets out the meaning of certain disputed patent claim language present in the patents in suit. This court interpretation is then applied during the action in the determinations of infringement and validity. The Markman Order can be a significant factor in the progress and outcome of patent infringement litigation.
