Tomahawk, WI 06/06/2014 (Basicsmedia) – Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP) in under an agreement with the member supported organization Calstart in deploying a hybrid bus powered by fuel cells. The power module FCvelocity-HD6 is supposed to be a sixth generation technology which will contribute to 150 Kilo watt of power collaborates with the control unit. The integration with the microcontroller makes the fuel cell from Ballard a plug and play power source. The power module is designed so as to withstand the shocks and vibrations which form an integral part of any dynamic machine and this effort is in an attempt to increase the durability of the cell and thereby increasing its fuel efficiency.

According to the American Fuel Cell Bus configuration (AFCB), this will be the sixth fuel celled hybrid bus and is going to be in operation at the University of California, Irvine. The University of California along with the partnership of BAE systems and ElDorado National has taken steps and owe the responsibility of flawless execution of this project. ElDorado National’s 40 foot long passenger bus incorporates the propulsion and power management system of BAE and Ballard’s fuel cell will act as a primary source of power that will drive the passenger bus.

The chief commercial officer of Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP), Steve Karaffa, expressed his delight in having an earlier successful AFCB partnership with BAE system and ElDorado National and is eager to have an alliance with the University of California. Steve also stated that having a partnership with these multinationals will help Ballard to confidently face the challenges that persist.

Alternative Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program of California Energy Commission is in harmony for funding the hybrid transit bus with UC, Irvine. The year 2015 will mark the deployment of the fuel cell powered transit hybrid bus and with this the emissions from the public transport will be nullified. The main objective of Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ:BLDP) with this project is to reduce the cost of the energy as well as minimize the atmospheric pollution that will in turn benefit each and every individual with a clearer environment.
